“There couldn’t be a worse time to retire reliable power plants,” write Isaac Orr and MItch Rolling

In their Washington Examiner column titled The EPA is right to roll back Biden’s blackout regulations,”  AOER’s Isaac Orr and Mitch Rolling praise EPA Administrator Lee Zeldin’s historic deregulation initiative that will save ratepayers money and prevent blackouts. Biden’s regulations would have led to the premature retirement of reliable coal plants and hindered the construction of new natural gas facilities, increasing the risk of widespread blackouts and imposing significant costs. AOER analysis indicated that implementing these rules could cost ratepayers an additional $65.6 billion and lead to substantial power shortages when the country is desperate for power.
